President Obama Still Struggles to Stop Smoking… Hypnosis Could Help

So, there he is, the most powerful man in the world, leader of our nation, and the Commander and Chief of the most powerful armed forces in the world, still unable to stop smoking.

He says that he wants to quit, but in his own words, according to USA Today’s website, "I constantly struggle with it" and "there are times when I mess up". Then, he goes on to say, "I don’t do it in front of the kids." I wonder if there is a smoking room in the White House, or does he just step outside?

I’m thinking that a really smart person like Obama, if he really wanted to quit smoking, he could do it. Seriously, lots of people have done it, either by using sheer willpower, a medical intervention such as the patch, or through hypnosis.

I think that President Obama should see a good hypnotist. What do you think?

Study: Hypnosis can ease respiratory trouble in children

According to a report published by the UPI, "Hypnosis may help children with asthma and other respiratory disorders." Dr. Ran Anbar published his findings in the journal of Pediatric Asthma, Allergy & Immunology. This research indicates that hypnosis can help children who have such symptoms as difficulty breathing, disruptive cough, hyperventilation as well as other breathing difficulties. Scientists Use Hypnosis To Learn About Emotions

Natural News reports that scientists are using hypnosis to investigate emotions in a short but interesting article posted Oct. 4th.

In this article, they talk about how emotions originate in the subconscious mind. The only problem with the research in my opinion is that they do not talk about the unconscious mind which controls automatic body functions which result in the "feeling" of the emotion. It is the feeling of the emotion that informs the conscious mind about the internal state we call emotions.

Hypnosis News: Daily Telegraph UK – British Surgeons Should Use Hypnosis!

HYPNOSIS NEWS: As usual, when I hear about a promising and credible article supporting the use of hypnosis I like to pass it along to you. According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, "Professor David Spiegel, of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at Stanford University, wants the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) to sanction sweeping changes."

Dr. Spiegel went on to say, "He will tell the Royal Society of Medicine on Monday that Nice should add hypnotherapy to its list of approved therapeutic techniques for the treatment of conditions ranging from allergies and high blood pressure to the pain associated with cancer treatment and bone marrow transplantation."

Group for the Racial and Ethnic Expansion of the Profession of Hypnotism

Have you ever thought that there is an imbalance in our profession with more people in it being Caucasian? I have.

A while back I wrote a blog entry about my view on this. May I suggest that you read it?

Our Profession Should Reach Out to Non-Whites

Do you agree or disagree?

If you believe that there is an imbalance and if you would like to see things change, you can take a small step by getting involved in the discussion. Hopefully we will come up with some ideas which will help to bring more people into our profession, and in the process lift the profession as a whole.

Whether you agree with this perception or racial and ethnic imbalance or not, can you agree that it would be good for the profession if we actively promoted it worldwide, to all races, ethnic backgrounds and religions open to hypnotism? Let’s talk about it.
