In a recent study, it has been shown that hypnotherapy has been very effective in treating children with functional abdominal pain (FAP) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In fact, when patients, consisting of children and adults with FAP, were given hypnosis sessions, they experienced an 85% success rate. In comparison, patients that were given standard medical care only experienced a 25% success rate. Hypnotherapy is not only highly therapeutic but can offer children with FAB or IBS long term health benefits as well.
